An Ascensiontide hymn written by St. Bede the Venerable, and translated by Elizabeth Rundle Charles, daughter of the Member of Parliament for Tavistock and a prominent Broad Church Anglican laywoman. The tune is by Frederic Marc Antoine Vedua, who was principally a composer and performer of ballet music, and who was born in France and died in Exeter, Devon.
