Nathaniel Billings -- often known as "The Other Billings" to distinguish him from his more famous namesake William Billings, was born in Northborough, Massachusetts in 1768 and died in Paterson, New Jersey in 1853. He came from a Northborough family who had been British loyalists in the Revolutionary War. It is not known what relationship if any there was between Nathaniel Billings and William Billings. Nothing whatever is known of the author of the text, I. I. Leslie.
