Justin Morgan, Through every age, eternal God
Justin Morgan (1747-1798) was a horse breeder and composer who resided in Vermont, and was, with perhaps the exception of William Billings, the leading New England composer of church music of his day. His tune "Amanda," written for Isaac Watts's paraphrase of Psalm 90, was named in memory of his daughter, Amanda Morgan, who had died shortly before during a harsh Vermont winter.
