Rouse, rouse from your slumbers (Version 1)
This carol was sung by Mrs. Ellen Lobb, aged 87, of Penrose, St. Ervan Parish, near Newquay. The words were taken down by her niece, Miss Old, a teacher at the Helland School near Bodmin, and the music by her son, W. T. Lobb, a member of the Wadebridge Town Band. It is fortunate that the instrumental parts were included, since in many cases these have been lost. The carol thus collected was communicated to the Royal Institution of Cornwall by Lady Ingeborg Molesworth St. Aubyn. It was originally published by Novello in 1922.
