Come Christians all, behold the Lamb
This carol is found in a broadside entitled Moses in the Bullrushes printed by J. Pitts, Great St. Andrews Street, Seven Dials, London. Pitts was in business between 1819 and 1844. The carol was also communicated to Cecil Sharp by Miss Susan Holden of The Rectory, Aston-on-Trent, Derbyshire, who described it as a "Husher in Carol," from the last line of the first stanza. In the absence of a definitive tune I have set it to the old English melody, "Newbury."
