Peter Drummond (1850-1918), affectionately known as "P.D.," was the younger, and generally much pleasanter, brother of the redoubtable Dugald Drummond, Locomotive Superintendent of the Caledonian and London & South Western Railways. Peter Drummond trained under Stroudley on the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway, and was Locomotive Superintendent of the Highland Railway from 1896 to 1911, and Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Glasgow & South Western Railway from 1911 until his death in 1918.
