Hamilton & Barton Incline Railway Untitled
The Hamilton & Barton Incline Railway, otherwise known as the Wentworth Incline Railway, was a funicular railway operated by the Hamilton Street Railway company in Hamilton, Ontario. The up and down cars were balanced by water from a reservoir at the top of the incline to operate the 800 foot-long 40% grade together. Rather curiously, there was a track gauge of 12 ft. 1 in. The line operated from 26 August 1895 until 14 May 1932.
