Elizabeth Stirling, Voluntary in E
Elizabeth Stirling studied under Sir George Macfarren at the Royal College of Music and was later organist of the Church of All Saints, Poplar, in London. Here she presided over a fine three-manual organ built by Timothy Russell in 1823. She is believed to have been the first person to have performed Bach's "St. Anne" Prelude & Fugue at a public recital in Britain.
