Mann, Prelude in F major
A. H. Mann is probably best remembered today as the Organist of King's College, Cambridge, who together with his Dean, Eric Milner-White, began the annual Christmas service of Nine Lessons and Carols at King's College, and for the arrangement of "Once in Royal David's City" which always begins the service. At the time he went there King's College was the worst of the three choirs in Cambridge that maintained daily services; by the time he left it was the most famous choir in the world. In his own day Dr. Mann was principally known as a Handel scholar. This attractive Postlude for organ is very much in the Introduction & Fugue style of Voluntary that was popular in England in Handel's day.
