Josef Seger, Prelude & Fugue in G minor
The Czech composer Josef Ferdinand Norbert Seger (1716-1782) was organist of the Church of Our Lady in front of Tın in Prague, famous for its magnificent 1673 Heinrich Mundt organ, which happily survives today. This edition is based on Josef Seger, Preludes & Fugues, Museum für Orgel-Spieler, Vol. I (Prague, ca. 1835). This work is also found under the name "Toccata & Fugue in G minor" in Josef Seger, 8 Toccatas & Fugues, ed. Daniel Gottlob Türk (Leipzig, 1793). The fugue is a particularly fine one.
