Ann Mounsey Bartholomew, Introduction and Fugue in F major
Ann Mounsey was one of the leading women organists and composers in nineteenth-century England, and was very highly regarded in her day. She was organist of the London church of St. Vedast, Foster Lane for nearly half a century. She was the accompanist at the first public performance of Mendelssohn's celebrated anthem, "Hear my Prayer," and promptly married author of the words, William Bartholomew.
