František Xaver Brixi, Fugue in G minor
The Czech composer František Xaver Brixi (1732-1771) in 1759 became organist of St. Vitus's Cathedral in Prague, the most important organist position in the city and he remained there for the rest of his sadly short life. This magnificent Fugue in G minor is a representative example of his work, and evokes in me echoes of J. S. Bach's Art of the Fugue.
