William Turner (1651-1742) was successively a chorister of the Chapel Royal, Master of the Choristers of Lincoln Cathedral, and a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal. He had a D.Mus. degree from Cambridge University, and was a lay vicar of both St. Paul's Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.
