Edward Tuckerman Potter (1831-1904) was the son of Alonzo Potter, third Episcopal Bishop of Pennsylvania, and is best known as the architect of a number of historic buildings such as the Mark Twain House in Hartford, Connecticut; Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Davenport, Iowa, and Christ Church, Reading, Pennsylvania. He was also the composer of a large volume of music, mostly of a choral nature. Potter mentions a manuscript in the Bodleian Library as the source of the text; I am aware of versions in the British Library and Trinity College, Library in Cambridge, but have not identified the Bodleian manuscript to which he refers.
