A rather rare example of a secular American Christmas carol from the nioneteenth century. The text was written by George Washington Birdseye (1844-1919), a graduate of Harvard Law School who practised as a lawyer in Lynn, Massachusetts. Nothing is known of V. Rozette, the composer of the tune.
