Laus Tibi, Christe
The Latin hymn, "Laus Tibi, Christe," translated by C. F. Harnaman as "Thee, Christ, we Laud and Magnify," was written in St. Gall, Switzerland by Notker the Stammerer (c.860-912).

The tune paired with the text here, "Patten," was written by William Patten (1804-1863) of Fareham, Organist of St. Cross, Winchester and Conductor of the Winchester Choral Society. Mr. Patten was a pupil of Dr. George William Chard, Organist of Winchester Cathedral from 1802 to 1849. He wrote numerous hymns and anthems.
