A curious though once popular carol in which King Herod is identified with the Pharoah in Egypt, a connection which scholars think Matthew's Gospel did actually intend to convey. I have edited the text considerably in order to accommodate it to the tune. Glossary: carnal [probably] = crow; renne = run.
