The Seven Joys of Mary (Sussex Tinkers' Version)
A version of this well-known carol which in was sung among the tinkers in Ashdown Forest In East Sussex. It was collected and published by Lavinia Edna Walter and Lucy Ethelred Broadwood in Christmas Carols (1922). I have been unable to find out anything about either of these ladies, except that Lavinia Edna Walter had an MBE and a BSc from Imperial College, London, and that Lucy Ethelred Broadwood died in 1929.
