John Henry Wilcox obtained his B.A. from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut and was organist of Episcopal churches in New Haven and Boston before converting to Catholicism and becoming organist of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Boston. He also worked as an organ builder with the firm of E. & G.G. Hook of Boston, and briefly also ran his own organ building company in Boston, J. H. Wilcox & Co. He had an honorary D.Mus. degree from Georgetown University.

The Right Reverend Richard Mant, D.D., a graduate of Trinity College, Oxford, was the Bishop of Down and Connor in Ireland.
