Jane Pearson Titcomb was the daughter of John Hancock Titcomb and Jane Titcomb (née Pearson) and was born at Newburyport, Massachusetts, in 1831. She was a member of the Essex Street Congregational Church, Boston, and was a music teacher at the Rutland Street Elementary School in Boston. She was also associated with the Boston Music School. Ms. Titcomb was politically active as a member of the National Liberal League and was elected as its Assistant Secretary in 1876. She was a strong supporter of the women's suffrage movement. She published a number of other choral works including a Cradle Song. She seems to have died in the late 1870s. I have been unable to determine if Jane P. Titcomb was in any way related to the distinguished Boston church musician Everett Titcomb (1884-1969).
