Long thought to have been written by Orlando Gibbons, this anthem is now believed to have been the work of Henry Loosemore (1600-1670), who was Organist of King's College, Cambridge, both before and after the Civil War. He came from an a family of organ builders in Bishop's Nympton, Devon.
