Thomas Moore (1779-1852) wrote the libretto of an oratorio, Sacred Melodies to which John Stephenson supplied the music. Oliver Shaw took the text of "All things fair and bright are thine" and produced a sacred duet for performance at the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston. This was performed before the President of the United States, James Monroe, on July 5, 1817.
