This unusual eighteenth-century American anthem for Easter in the "Sacred Harp" tradition was published in the Harmony of Maine (1794). The tenor should be the predominating voice. Supply Belcher (1751-1836) was a tax assessor, schoolmaster, magistrate and town clerk in addition to being a musician. He lived successively in Stoughton, Massachusetts, and Augusta and Farmington, Maine.
