Justin Morgan, Early, my God, without delay
Justin Morgan (1747-1798) was a horse breeder and composer who resided in Vermont, and was, with perhaps the exception of William Billings, the leading New England composer of church music of his day. His tune "Montgomery," written for Isaac Watts's paraphrase of Psalm 63, is a particularly fine example of an early American fuguing tune.
