A Virgin Unspotted
This carol is found in William Hauser's Hesperian Harp (Philadelphia, 1848), where it is attributed to William Knapp (1743). It seems to represent a Dorsetshire variant of the well-known carol, and it is interesting that this version seems to have been sung in mid-nineteenth-century Pennsylvania.
