Now let our mournful songs record
This carol is found in a broadside in the Bodleian Library [Harding B.7 (5)] printed in Devonport for S. & J. Keys, 7 James Street, Devonport, and also sold by W. Burridge of Truro and J. Perrow of St. Austle [sic.]. This source prints all five stanzas of Isaac Watts's hymn, but I -- in common with several Victorian hymnals such as Charles S. Robinson, Songs for the Sanctuary; Or, Psalms and Hymns for Christian Worship (1879)-- I have omitted stanzas 2 to 4 as being highly anti-Semitic. The tune is a popular one by Handel.
