Angels proclaim the happy morn
A text published in Penzance in 1870 by F. Rodda in A Selection of Carols, Pieces and Anthems, suitable for Christmas. The tune, and possibly also the text, was written by a William Eade of Illogan, Cornwall. This Cornish carol was known among the gold-miners in Victoria, Australia surprisingly early on; a performance of it is known to have been given at a charity concert in Creswick, Victoria, as early as 1868.
