Ye faithful come, triumphant come (Adeste Fideles)
This carol is found in a broadside entitled Moses in the Bullrushes printed by J. Pitts, Great St. Andrews Street, Seven Dials, London. Pitts was in business between 1819 and 1844. The broadside states that the carol was "Translated from the Portuguese" (This seems to be a misunderstanding of the fact that the tune of the Latin hymn "Adeste Fideles," was originally known as "Portuguese Hymn.") The Orthodox Christian's Magazine & Review for 1805, also printed in London, has the Latin hymn with this Common Meter translation underneath. In the absence of a definitive tune I have set it to Dr. Wainwright's tune "Manchester."
