John Speller's Web Pages - Christmas

All you that to feasting and mirth are inclined (Old Christmas returnd)
This is one of a number of carols written in the Restoration period to celebrate the return of Christmas festivities after the Commonwealth when celebrating Christmas had been banned. The original broadside stated that the tune used was "The Delights of the Bottle," which was part of the music written by Matthew Locke for Shadwell's Psyche (1675).
